Hospital Maternity and Delivery Rates in Malaysia 2015
Lately I have been contemplating on which hospital to give birth at in October. Naturally my first choice would be Subang Jaya Medical Centre since I have been going for consultations there with Dr Lee Say Fatt (since it is also near to my house) but I guess it would not hurt to ask around for the delivery rates from other nearby hospitals, right? I’ve tried googling “maternity rates 2015 malaysia” but there weren’t many information.
Hope these are useful for mommies-to-be out there! Kindly note that these are only estimated rates and it may increase based on the complexity of the delivery and other surcharges.

Thank you for putting up this list. My first obgyn was Dr Lee Say Fatt from SDMC too (also because it’s very near my house) but decided to change obgyn after 2 visits. I felt his consultation was really quick and he doesn’t explain much. I am having some complication and was very scare and worry, as this is also my first pregnancy. But when he explains, he doesn’t really care much of my feelings and deliver all the bad news like a fact. I was worry sick for days and decided to seek 2nd opinion and my friend recommended me Dr Loo Suat Chin from Columbia Asia Bukit Rimau. She was really good! Friendly and patiently explained everything in a very way that it doesn’t hurt my feeling, which made me feel so much better. Googled about her and you will see that she has really good rapport (3-4 hours waiting time). And due to complication, I had a miscarriage but I felt so much better that Dr Loo is my obgyn. I think it is really important to have a really good gynae. For my next pregnancy, I will go to Dr Loo at Columbia Asia, even though it’s a bit further away from my home, compare to SDMC. 🙂
Thanks for the sharing, dear! One thing I like about Dr Lee is that he is a factual person, my husband and I like that he is straight-forward and he makes sure on things before letting us know. We only got to know the gender at 20 weeks since he refused to tell us at 16 weeks.
I’m so sorry to hear about your miscarriage, babe. How far along were you?
My wife just gave birth at tropicana medical centre on 29th june 2015. Scheduled C-section. 3 days 2 nights, single executive room for 9.5k. I think the fiqure you stated here, for rm8k you still can get single room.
Hi Amirul, congrats on the new addition 🙂 Wow that price isn’t too bad for c-sec at a private.
Hi Amirul, may I know whether 9.5K is total bill inclusive / exclusive charges for baby? Thanks
This was something that i was looking for and thank you so much for sharing these info,

Hi..anyone know how much is monthly checkup for Tropicana Medical Centre? I went for first check up at TMC.. Total charges is RM333.10..i need to know for monthly check up charges.. ☺️
No one talk about KPJ hospital?
kpj hospitals are very nice and efficient. I love it with doctors and staffs there.
I check up my son there from pregnancy until now. the price is not expensive from other hospitals.
sorry if your experience in kpj was nice , I would tell you my friend that was your luck , me , my friends and relatives all we had a massive horrible experience in kpj they charge very huge amounts from other hospitals rates , their policy is just a shit , KPJ is not hospital to assist humans , is just a bank and just for business, after you pay more than 10k just few visits for baby check up , try to mention to them that you are planing to change the hospital and you need your wife and baby health record ! Hahaha they will say OUR POLICY, YOU CAN TAKE THEM AFTER 3 WEEKS . Your baby will be 2weeks old till you get your record . What you paid to them is just the fees to respect you for short period of time , once you mention you are changing the hospital that’s mean to them no more cash from you so see their real attitude.
FOR ME I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANY ONE TO FOLLOW WITH KPJ , I ADVICE TMC IS MUCH BETTER .
I also want to add that my husband was with me all the time when i was in the labor room.
