Hospital Maternity and Delivery Rates in Malaysia 2015

Lately I have been contemplating on which hospital to give birth at in October. Naturally my first choice would be Subang Jaya Medical Centre since I have been going for consultations there with Dr Lee Say Fatt (since it is also near to my house) but I guess it would not hurt to ask around for the delivery rates from other nearby hospitals, right? I’ve tried googling “maternity rates 2015 malaysia” but there weren’t many information. 

Hope these are useful for mommies-to-be out there! Kindly note that these are only estimated rates and it may increase based on the complexity of the delivery and other surcharges.

Subang Jaya Medical Centre
Normal delivery rate: RM6,000 (inclusive of single/double room, nursery, food, consultation), surcharge of RM500 – RM1000 for epidural, deposit RM6,000 prior to admission
Caesarean delivery rate: RM11,000 (inclusive of single/double room, nursery, food, consultation), surcharge of RM500 – RM1000 for epidural, deposit RM11,000 prior to admission

Columbia Asia Hospital – Bukit Rimau
Normal delivery rate: RM4,000.00 – RM5,000.00
Elective c-sect rate: RM8,000.00 – RM10,000.00
The price quoted are for normal procedures only with no complications.  There is no delivery package available.

Sunway Medical Centre
Normal delivery rate: RM6,000 – RM8,000
Caesarean delivery rate: RM8,000 – RM10,000
Estimated charges stated above includes the room and the specialists fees as well, but excludes any additional charges that may arise from any medical complications. There is no delivery package available.

Prince Court Medical Centre
Normal delivery rate: RM5,000 – RM10,000
Caesarean delivery rate: RM10,000 – RM15,000
Emergency caesarean rate: RM15,000 – RM20,000
Ultrasound charges from RM150 to RM400.
Separate bill for the baby in nursery, the estimated price is RM2,000 to RM4,000.
The estimated price quoted above  includes room and food for all deliveries subject to changes.

Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur
Normal delivery rate: RM5,000 – RM7,500.00 (deposit RM5,000.00)
Delivery (epidural) rate: RM6,000 – RM9,500.00 (deposit RM6,000.00)
LSCS/Caesarean rate: RM8,000.00 – RM11,500.00 (deposit RM8,000.00)
Cost excludes any type of complications.
This does not constitute a package and may vary with room type and other arising medical conditions.

Tropicana Medical Centre
Normal delivery rate: RM3,500 – RM5,500 (Delivery room, Dr fees, normal room – 4 bedded)
Caesarean delivery rate: RM 8,000 – RM12,000 (Operation theatre, Dr fees, normal room – 4 bedded)
The above estimate is not inclusive of epidural (will cost an additional of about RM1,000 to RM2,500)
You can upgrade to 2-bedded or single room, depends on the availability and it will be charged according to the respective room rate.
Excluding medical expenses incurred for each baby which will be between RM1,200 to RM2,500. Vaccination at birth will be given to baby on recommendation by paediatrician before discharging the baby.
3 days 2 nights stay.
The amount provided above is a lump sum cost estimate for birth delivery (with no complications). Fee will be charged as per service provided and per item/medication used during the delivery and stay in the Hospital.

DEMC Specialist Hospital, Shah Alam
Normal delivery rate: RM4,000 and above, without complication (deposit RM2,000.00). Additional Charge if patient requires Epidural RM1000 or Vacuum & Forcep RM800++
Elective LSCS: RM9,500 and above, without complication (deposit RM5,000.00)
Emergency LSCS: RM13,000.00 and above, without complication (deposit RM5,000.00)
