Delivery and Maternity Rates at Private Hospitals in KL and Selangor 2016
It’s a brand new year and as we know it, maternity and delivery cost at private hospitals in Malaysia either increases or remains the same. No doubt the fees are astonishingly high to give birth at a private hospital but you’re actually paying for the top class customised service you will get. When I delivered at SJMC, my husband was with me from before I gave birth till baby was out. He even cut our daughter’s umbilical cord, of course under the supervision and watchful eyes of the obgyn. Stayed for two nights in a single-bedded room. There was also a sofa that opens up to a single bed which my husband occupied throughout my recovering days.
I went through all the trouble again this year (was diligently emailing and calling hospitals last year before I gave birth) and inquired hospitals for your convenience. Here’s a compiled list of private hospitals in Malaysia and their maternity rates for 2016. Also please note that I’ll be adding more as and when. Rates may vary from time to time so please be sure to check with the respective hospitals, I’ll try to keep this post updated as much as I can. You might also want to check out last year’s rates to compare. Prices are stated in MYR.

I had emergency c-sec after trying natural birth with epidural. The total bill is less than 11K which included baby nursery fees. I stayed in single executive room for 3 days 2 nights. However, I don’t like the nurses there, not professional.
Hi Celeste
Which hospital is this? Most of them double charge if you go for emergency c sect after attempting natural…
Hi there, a very good post! Wondering when will you update about the prince court price? And did you make a review over general hospitals? I’m living in JB but will give birth and do my confinement at my MIL’s in PJ, still not familiar with the places. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hey, thanks for the good comment 🙂 I’m awaiting for their reply and will update soonest when they do yea. For GH I won’t be making any reviews as the cost should be standard since it’s govt.

The anesthetic that admit my epidural is so gentle it is almost painless. I under constant monitor by many doctors all the time. Should give putrajaya hospital a try. They are really good.

I would like to share my experience and bill charged at gleneagles ampang.
2d 1n, 4bedded since single room is fully booked, normal delivery with ethonox, baby was fine no complications. My bill was rm5600.
I delivered with gynae dr adzlina. She was excellent, very friendly, very polite and calm.. she is more towards normal delivery also.. based on my experience, kpj ampang puteri offer more affordable price, better food in ward but the doctor and nurse are rude and not friendly. Gleneagles have good doctors, best treatment from the nurse, but more expensive, long waiting time. Ive waited at labour room for more than 5hrs to get a room, and food was horrible
